Self-Esteem
When I think of the word self-esteem, I think of an individual who has confidence in their own abilities and understanding their own worth. Self-esteem can also play apart in a person's self-love. If your self-esteem is high, then hopefully you have a strong positive connection with yourself, or in other words; you love yourself no matter what flaws you may have. Trust me, we all have flaws, but it is good to acknowledge these flaws and appreciate that these flaws are what makes you unique. For example, one of my flaws is that I often over think or think too much. My mind sometimes runs rampant with thoughts that can cause me to stress too much, and ask a lot of questions. Of course that isn't a good thing, but I have learned to try to work on this flaw. However, by embracing this flaw, I am able to come up with ideas and various thoughts quickly as compared to other people.
Growing up my self-esteem was not high or low, I guess it was just in between. I am short, about 5'1''-5'2'' in height and I was definitely made fun of as a kid. I used to be embarrassed by my height, but now that my self-esteem is higher, I don't care that I'm short; because I have many other positive attributes that I am proud of. I think that is the way that people should view themselves, don't view all of your flaws and negative traits as a setback. View them as something that God has given you, to strengthen you.
Now there are some people, who unfortunately have low self-esteem. Some people think that they have to be tall, or skinny, or extremely intelligent. Please don't think like that! There are many traits that you have, that someone else may wish they had. That's why people should practice more self-love, by having more self-love you increase your self-esteem. If you're not the skinniest man or woman, so what! Flaunt what you have and look good while doing it! God has blessed you to be who you are and you are beautiful or handsome in the skin you are in. Every morning or night, people should speak positive affirmations about themselves. You can start by saying things like, "I am smart." "I am going to have a good day today." " I am loved." "I deserve the best. ""I love myself and I love the way God created me." Please affirm these messages daily and watch how much your self-esteem increases, stay blessed!
